Summary: Service is a common name for a technical solution that CSC hosts and offers for customers' use. Certain services are activated via the MyCSC website and configured within each of the selected services. Homepages of the selectable and configurable services are listed below.

A MyCSC Project and selectable services

Description

A service is a technical solution or combination of technical solutions offered to customers for their use.

Warning

Some of the services are only available in the Course and not in the Student project type.

Tutorial

Many services need to be added to a MyCSC Project before they're available for use: Add a service to a MyCSC Project.

There are two types of services: those that can be used by the customer 'as-is', and those that require configuration before use.

In some cases the distinction is difficult to make, but an attempt is made below with a couple of examples:

"MyCSC is a service that the customer can use but cannot configure."
"Noppe is a service that the customer can configure to some extent, but only within the limits of the service."
"cPouta is a service that requires configuration. It is a service that is intended to be built upon with a more dedicated/specific service."

Services are offered as they are and, for example, setting up a specific service on top of a CSC service (e.g. cPouta) is beyond the scope of CSC support.
