Create an invitation link to a MyCSC Project

This tutorial will show you how to generate an invitation link to a MyCSC project, how to use this link and how to accept members to the project.

Prerequisites

1. An existing MyCSC project for which you are the project manager.

Procedure

Log in to the MyCSC service. Select the project to which you want to invite members. Click the 'Open ' button.

Click the ' Generate invitation link' button.

Click ' Generate' button.

Send the generated link to people you want to add to your project as members.

Tip

Teachers can add this link to the Moodle course environment, for example.

Close the view.

Next, action is needed from future members.

You can then proceed to the Handling requests.

Join Project

Joining a project is done through an invitation link. The link has the following format:

https://my.csc.fi/project-invitation/{unique-id-string}

Open the link in your browser. Authenticate with the MyCSC service .

Note

If you have never used CSC services before, you will be taken to the account creation wizard. Learn more in this tutorial: Log in to MyCSC service for the first time using Haka.

Confirm that the project information is correct and that you are joining the correct project.

Then apply for membership .

You will be taken to the MyCSC main page and notified of the successful submission .

Now you need to wait for the project manager to accept (Handle requests) your submission.

Once the project manager has accepted your application, you will receive one or more emails:

One for being approved for the project .

Then one for each service that requires you to accept the terms and conditions .

Handle requests

As a project manager, you will need to review membership applications and then accept or reject them.

You will be reminded of pending actions that require your attention when you log in to the MyCSC service.

Go to the project view and click the ' Manage applications' button.

Warning

Applications may take some time to process depending on the volume of applications.

Select the user(s) you want to target with actions. Then select the action .

That's it!

You have invited your first member to your project.
